With students having returned to classes, chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw has written a letter to parents about adjusting to the new school year in a COVID-19 environment.  The letter also provides information about the health guidance and dealing with COVID-19 cases at school.

Welcome Back Badger Families!

It’s been a long five months and we are excited to have students back to school at Big Rock! We know that emotions around back to school right now range from excitement to apprehension, and possibly fear and anxiety. We also know you probably have more questions than answers at this point. 

 

This is new to all of us. As we return to school, physical and social emotional safety are going to be our number one priority. Attached to this email you will find a document outlining some of the specific structures and routines we have in place so that return to school is safe and enjoyable. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with this document prior to the start of school.

Big Rock Relaunch Information for Parents

 

We will be staggering the startup of school so that we can become familiar with new routines with smaller numbers at school. Please make sure your child is coming to school according to the following schedule the first week of school:

           August 31st & September 1st - Students surname A-M

           September 2nd & 3rd - Students surname N-Z

           Friday, September 4th will be an operational day and no school for all students.

           Classes will resume normally for all students starting Tuesday, September 8th.

This will give us an opportunity to learn and practice new routines as well as give staff an opportunity to make changes to processes if necessary prior to September 8th.

 

We will also be hosting parent information evenings next week at the school to further explain back to school procedures in place and answer any questions you may have. We will be hosting these outside to allow for social distancing for everyone attending. Please see the schedule for parent evenings below: 

August 26th, 6:00PM - Families in JK - Grade 3 

August 27th, 6:00PM - Families in Grades 4-6

 If you have children that fall into both dates, you only need to attend one information meeting. Please refer to the attached poster for more information.

 

Junior Kindergarten Parents: We will be having your child’s classroom placement out next week. Thank you for your patience.
